The Apple Mountain Scottish Session is devoted to playing traditional Scottish music, a unique and beautiful genre. We honor the composers, musicians, people, and landscapes where this music originated by attempting to play it in traditional Scottish style.
Our intentions for the session are to: play traditional Scottish music; on instruments traditionally played in Scottish music; in a friendly, inclusive (including novice players) atmosphere; take turns choosing tunes at sessions (except before a dance or performance, when we rehearse); and play for festivals and dances several times per year. Traditional instruments include fiddle, guitar, harp, bagpipes, accordion, concertina, tin whistle, and bodhrán.
We meet the second Sunday of each month from 2-4 pm at Whole Woman Studio, 418 Central SE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, 505-239-3052. Sheet music for our tunes is available at: http://www.sessionlist.com/sessions/601. For more information contact Kris, firstname.lastname@example.org or Christine, email@example.com.
